I’m downloading these drivers on my jump drive and will put on the PC This was purchased as a refurbished unit 4 years ago so Gateway isn’t very helpful. It is presently linked directly in to the router, so I’m not using it for wireless access Did this solve your problem? I can’t really afford to invest a bunch of money in this or replace it right now Hello cplantz, The drivers are available only for Windows XP.

Download drivers for Gateway 838GM

Same on my PC. Place the driver installation file on the Desktop. It’s 32bit xp btw. I have attempted to use the generic drivers but none have resolved the issue. CNET’s Forum on desktop PCs is the best source for finding help, troubleshooting, and getting buying advice from a community of experts.

I’m sure I will get use out of that bit of advice! Right Click the file and select the Run As Administrator option to install. I’m 388gm sure I just need drivers for those items, but don’t know how to find the correct ones.


Posted 11 January – Speccy shows no details other than listing realtek. I had a system recovery disc for my Gateway and the machine is functional now, but Device manager shows yellow question 838gj next to: You currently have javascript disabled.
